Lip Lift: Enhance the beauty of your lips

Objective: To raise the upper lip, reducing its length

Treatment time: 30 to 45 min

Recovery: 3-5 days

Over the years, the upper lip undergoes changes that detract from its appearance. The skin often loses tone and elasticity, causing the upper lip to stretch.

This effect results in the red portion of the lip – the vermilion – becoming less visible. This is why you feel that your once beautiful, voluminous lip has become thinner.

In another scenario, there are patients who have resorted to lip fillers, to increase the redness in order to make it

less thin, and felt that the result may have been exaggerated or unnatural, especially if the lip protrudes forward – the so-called “duck-bill”.

It also happens that there are patients who enjoy the results of fillers, but would like to avoid having to repeat the treatment on a regular basis, and are looking for something more permanent.

The lip lift is an effective solution for a younger, more harmonious and attractive smile.

What is a lip lift?

A lip lift is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that aims to elevate the upper lip, reducing its length, making the vermilion more visible, and even increasing the exposure of the
upper teeth, if desired.

By repositioning the upper lip, this surgery enhances the Cupid’s bow, softens perioral wrinkles and creates a more harmonious balance between the upper lip and the rest of the face.

The lip lift has several advantages

It increases the exposure of the upper teeth, revealing a younger, more vibrant smile.

Reduces the length of the upper lip, restoring harmony between the lip and the rest of the face.

It highlights the most beautiful and defining part of the lip – the vermilion.

It enhances the natural curvature of the upper lip, giving it a more sensual and defined look.

Reduces the appearance of fine wrinkles above the upper lip, rejuvenating the area

The corners of the mouth can be made more prominent with a corner lift.

Improves the appearance of the smile, increasing confidence and self-esteem.

How do you know if you will benefit from this procedure?

01. Stand in front of a mirror;

02. Place a finger on each side of the upper lip, between the nose and the vermillion;

03. Create a slight tension towards the nose.

Do you like the result?
Then you’ll enjoy a lip lift.

Who can benefit from a lip lift?

The lip lift is recommended for those who feel uncomfortable with the length of their upper lip, would like to have a less thin lip, or even for those looking for an alternative to lip fillers.

Take the first step towards feeling better, with a plan designed for you and natural, long-lasting results.

Before and after

What to Expect from Treatment

The surgery can take between 30 and 45 minutes on average, depending on the complexity of the case. Each procedure is personalized, so the time can vary according to each person’s specific needs.

Local anesthesia is the most common and is very well tolerated, but you can opt for general anesthesia if you prefer.

It is performed at the base of the nose, in a natural crease, to minimize the visibility of the scar. If you need to improve the corners of the mouth, you can benefit from additional small millimetre incisions in the commissures – corner lift.

A small strip of skin is removed from the base of the nose, according to the patient’s needs, lifting the upper lip and reshaping the contour. If you need to improve the corners of the mouth, you can benefit from additional small millimetre incisions in the commissures – corner lift.

The recovery period is relatively short. The stitches are removed 3-5 days after surgery. Oedema and bruising can be expected for 1-2 weeks.
Most patients resume normal activities after the first post-operative week.

The final result is visible after a month, once the swelling has resolved.

The result of the lip lift is permanent, giving you a renewed and harmonious smile for many years to come. Although natural ageing will continue to occur, the rejuvenating effect will remain.

It is essential to moisturize the scars well and apply sunscreen daily to avoid hyperpigmentation of the scar.
